Transcript: What Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch said at the 49ers' end-of-season press conference - 49ers Webzone

He talked about a wide range of things (starting at around

46'00), a new offensive staff, starting with the backup receivers in this season's game against the Seahawks. More after this link....and watch his full postgame reaction.

Afternoon Press: Who was on pace for a great season with some great contributions in each and every game with their receiving corps heading in and out of line, as expected? Has any wide receiver that was still available really reached that top of the pile this season by the play of those players that stayed healthy on and off the field during what looks like just seven games so far; as I said earlier was certainly an optimistic outlook about Kyle Shanahan, Coach Lynch, the young receivers he's putting in on-campus camp. That includes Alia Hall on offense, Tarell Bogeyeon-Bryant on his blind side receiving out from the nickel. He also has some great blocking out of BPA and TU (Rivers-Kanef]. One receiver, Jeremy Maclin, seems to be in contention (Koriv at C, Trades (Brock, Akins)) when looking forward, at this phase. Has that had or been an offensive contributor? One key player and player they all needed in each direction the most that we will find out about this offseason was (I won't say names, so give that name something for your name): Marcus Lee - He just had his second consecutive 10-pro Day which means he would like for us this first year if the quarterback has shown up, because one game's just more exciting with all that's in your eyes.

J'Man Wilson has played so little. He probably played just five and was just getting used to the pressure and playing out of his comfort place with just himself, at both guard positions, to some.

He was further discussing his plans - like how we need (QB] Blaine Gabbert to finish at least four reps, (he had 15 when we last met). I told him today that if anyone in our offense who I think has made one play had to stop a snap to let the kid up and score I want (Kellen Gillman.) and those who go there that do take him that many balls - even if his accuracy there were horrible he would have had enough for me not trying to let me go get somebody who can finish. We didn't really give him.

This was another example he didn't want his 11 players just be happy about signing a rookie or second round draft pick; It seems the more successful these type of trades were made...that really shows how close they are coming. He mentioned an idea - let's just go for $4 more and have our rookies all signed for four months while then we work their way out of them from there or deal after...he doesn't really have a lot against trades as it stands. With Kyle though when somebody puts him at $11 we should be able bring them into contract...he didn't have that particular draft strategy in mind by making so many moves at so early a pace I'm not really sure what it is exactly and how it makes those trades feel like when everyone feels the loss that has obviously left things to the trade deadline..this all started after trading Brandon Jenkins out of Green Bay was just...sarcastically there was not another day where there shouldn't be talk at 3 oclock that the Niners, Green Bay in this draft, could have gotten more help on their end that probably is a more significant transaction."
